At Apex Wire Products Co., Inc., we specialize in the turnkey fabrication of a variety of wire products. This custom bent bolt measures 6″ in length by 3.75″ in width and is used by a customer in the transportation industry. The bolt is manufactured using 0.4375″ diameter 1018 cold rolled steel wire. We are capable of accommodating larger diameter wire using hydraulic bending equipment that allows us to create custom shapes from high strength materials. Bending tolerances are held to ±0.030″ for this part while hole tolerances are held to ±0.005″. The bolt has a tapped through-hole located on one end and is chamfered on both ends in accordance with customer specifications.
A zinc undercoat is used in combination with a clear chromate topcoat for added corrosion resistance. The exposed (bent) portion of the bolt is dipped in a clear plastic coating. We have a wide variety of value added processes available in house and can accommodate outside processes as needed. These custom bent bolts are produced in 1,000 piece production runs with a lead time of 2 to 3 weeks.
